Movember
Hi again-
I hope you are all enjoying our blog.
These pictures are taken of Scott as he goes through the month of November trying to grow his "MO". He is away in Auckland this week so I am eager to see how much it has grown within the week. Scott also said he is tempted to keep it going after November 30...oh no :)

Scott and his Big Boy Adventures
He survived an 8 hr hike across the very popular Tongerio Crossing. Scott completed the tramp in 6 hrs. As you can tell from the photos it was not a nice day to pick to tramp and they came across some snow as well. On a good day you can see the crater blue lakes and the view for mthe top is to be awesome...oh well next time, althought Scott said he was not interested in doing tramping for a while. He did not even stop for a break and he was so wet fro the down pours he wanted to get it over with...great way to spend your weekend eh!!

Tour Of Wellington
Another weekend has come. Scott is away this weekend on a "boys only" weekend. He is doing a 8 hr hike across the mountain we ski on, so I guess I am thankful I was not invited, but I will be happy to see the photos. This weekend I am having a quiet one, and as well doing the "girls only" thing.
We thought it would be nice for you al to see some photos for the Wellington area. I know it is hard when we tell you about stuff around here since most of it does not make sense to you, but now you will get a better Look at the city where we work, play and live in.
From the first few photos, they are of the CND (central Business district), my dads Favourite restaurant in New Zealand!! And of the harbour and the museum...Te Papa.
You can also see where we do some of our grocery shopping, at the New World. It is very much like Zehrs, with of course much different things to buy and very pricey.
All of the photos are taken in Mt Victoria, that is another area of Wellington near our house. We like this area b/c the houses are so Victorian and pretty on the water.

Scuba Diving 101
We survived a full on weekend, that is all I can say. Scott and I have taken on a new hobby...Scuba diving. This weekend we did part 1 of 2 of our scuba diving certification. We were in the pool on Saturday for 5 long hrs, nd for that entire time it felt like I was caring a pack of bricks on my back, and even today my back is sore, but I know it does not sound fun but it was. At first I did want to give up but Scott encouraged me to keep going as I did for him and skiing. It was our first time wearing a wet suit and boy it took all my engery to get the darn thing on. By the end of the pool and skills day we both came out looking happy and excited for our new adventure of the under world. We learned lots of breathing skills and how to to mask recovery and regulator recovery. On Sunday we had to take plenty of quizzes and then finally an exam, and guess what...I got %100 and Scott got %93. We are back out in the open ocean on Novemeber 25th and we can't wait. There is not too much to see in Wellington area so it is a good place to learn and we hope at Xmas to go out and see more.
Sorry we hve no pix to add but maybe when we go out into the ocean I will get some good ones.
Guy Fawkes Celebrations
Well finally we had another exciting weekend. Last night in Wellington, well actually the entire country along with England celebrated Guy Fawkes day. It pretty much was fireworks all weekend. The city of Wellington displayed an awesome show of fireworks over the harbour and I reckon we had the best view. We went over for dinner and drinks to our friends Louise and Johans place and then from their condo balcony on the ocean we watched the fireworks show. Louise and Johan live on Oriental Parade and right across from where the fireworks were going off. The fireworks lasted for about 15 minutes and Scott thinks it was the best he had ever seen, I did agree as well but from Ontario Place I have seen some pretty cool ones as well. After the show was over, I had never seen so many cars and people trying to leave the harbour. We just watched from the condo and waited for it to all clear, which took about 1 hour. So we had some more drinks and waited for the traffic chaos to lesson. That was our experience of the Guy Fawkes day.
